The transitions of color in the the bark of this tree as the winter progresses are like nothing I've seen on any other tree. As soon as the temperatures begin to drop the bark begins to change color to yellow at the trunk, the colder it gets the further up through the branching the color moves from pale yellow through orange to intense red at the tips. Lovely upright open form. Easy to grow.
