Acer palmatum 'Ryuzu' Japanese Maple

About Our Sizes

A sturdy dwarf cultivar long in production, the name meaning "Ornamental Dragon's Head". This tree has very short internodes covering the stiff upright branches with medium-sized leaves. The sharply pointed lobes seem to twist at the tips. Spring is a shrimp pink color changing to light green in summer and orange-yellow in the fall. Some belief 'Ryuzu' to be the parent tree of 'Shishigashira'. Excellent for either bonsai, container or a rock garden.
