Prunus Okame flowering cherry predictably tantalizes you for two to three weeks in spring with it's early rosy red buds followed by carmine-pink petals, rose-red calyx and reddish flower stalks, fully opening before leaf break. The summer leaves are dark green and the which are accented with small cherry fruit. The dark red-orange fall display is followed by an attractive winter showing of shiny reddish brown barked branches after the leaves have fallen. This tree tries hard to please even the most discriminating bonsai enthusiast.
