A curly wad of extremely fine foliage, emerging pale green in spring and summer with an extraordinary fall display of red, orange and yellow. The dissectum leaves are so fine they appear to be threadlike at times. Perhaps the smallest of all the Acer japonicum, this little tree offers significant interest for a colder climate garden as well as a container garden.
